For this video module I wanted to create something quite abstract, following on from the last one I was involved in based on colour. I also however, wanted to look at something either relating to photography or at least art. This idea was inspired by the Michelangelo Antonion film 'Blow Up', from 1966. Said to be based on David Bailey, this film looks at the fashion, music and art scene in 60's London, following a main storyline featuring an apparent murder. What I wanted to take from this film was an idea of behind the scenes, ignoring the central plot line, I wanted to look at the way the photoshoots were filmed and maybe look at creating an abstract documentary style film. This clip is a perfect example.
I love the style of the film and the feel of the era. Obviously not aiming to create something as iconic but using the idea of featuring photography as a starting point.
