Final Images

Final Idea

I decided for my final idea I wanted to use both things I had been working on. I chose to do a series of three images following the lyrics from a whole song. I wanted to take from the comic style idea and make it follow in a linear pattern.
I wanted all the images to describe what the lyrics were saying, a bit like before, using all sorts of post production tools. I chose the song ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ by The Beatles as it is quite surreal and I thought it might make interesting imagery.
These were some of the starting ways I experimented with when looking to shape my final pieces.

I used some found images alongside my own and printed all the text seperately and scanned it in.

With examples like this, I printed the picture out, stuck the sequins on and then scanned it.

A Softer World-Inspiration

I found these comic strip like photographs in the Guardian and thought they were really good. I had a look on the website and there were loads of really funny and clever ones which have started me thinking about which direction I might go with my project.

After the tutorial, I realised I needed more of a purpose to the imagery I was creating. Some people suggested flyers, which I had a go at but weren't as successful as I'd hoped. From this Im going to experiment with the idea of this comic strip style piece but with lyrics.

More Lyrics and Post Production Experiments

I tried a few more experiments with the lyrics idea, mixing in the other post production tools Ive been using, like stickers, sequins and most of all text.

These I really like but I need to do more to create final pieces. I also havent found a pattern I want for my series.

Final Presentation Ideas

This is the music video for the Bob Dylan song 'Subterranean Homesick Blues'. I really love the quality the old film style gives it. I have access to a Kodak Brownie Cinematic Camera like these ones

If I can get hold of some 8mm Super Cine film for it, I will be able to project a film. I would love to combine both these things for my presentation as I think it realtes to my studio project on the first one, 'Identity'.

Monday 21st Tutorial

Here is another image I have been working on. Its again more lyrics and is just a simple example of what I wish to be carrying on with in this project. I have lots of ideas for lyrics photographs and simply need to go out and take them.
I have also been continuing with my patterns and printed paper idea.

These are examples of when I printed on glittery paper. I then took a sample of the pattern from the dress and embossed it, following the pattern on the paper. This I feel isn't going as well as the lyrics idea and I feel I can gain moe from concentrating on that one.
I have, however, been trying to incorporate the two ideas by using the pictures I create with the interesting paper but putting lyrics on them. This is a start of one
